Illinois adjuster license

Illinois doesn't license independent adjusters. Here's how to work claims there anyway.

Working as an adjuster from Illinois

Residents of states without an adjuster license usually get a designated home state (DHS) license from Texas or Florida — pass that state's adjuster exam (or approved course), get fingerprinted, and use the license to get nonresident licenses in states that require one. Illinois does not license independent/company adjusters (only Public Adjusters; 165-min exam, no pre-licensing). Residents use a DHS license (TX/FL etc.).
